Maison de Baghdad is a contemporary expression of Iraqi elegance, shaped by the beauty, hospitality and generosity of Baghdad.
Inspired by the city's historic homes, ornate balconies, warm interiors and the tradition of welcoming guests with something sweet, the Maison turns cultural memories into a refined experience.
II · The balcony
The Balcony of the Maison
Our mark is drawn from the shanasheel, the carved balconies of historic Baghdad. More than an ornament, the balcony is the home itself: a place of culture, warmth and generous hosting.
Symmetry & Balance
Both sides mirror each other, for a sense of order, refinement and timelessness.
The Arches
Drawn from the carved window frames of Baghdad's historic houses.
The Curtains
Drawn back, as they are when a guest is expected.
The Ironwork
The craft of the balcony rail, worked by the city's artisans.
The Crown
An ornamental crest finishing the façade, as it did above old doorways.
The Open Window
An invitation: the home as a place of culture, warmth and generous hosting.

A City in Colour
Every box of the Maison carries a drawing of Baghdad: its landmarks gathered into a single façade and set in the colours of the house.
The Windows
The coloured glass of the shanasheel, where the city watched its streets.
The River
The Tigris, curling through every drawing as it curls through the city.
The Palms
For the groves of the south, and the dates on every table.
The Doves
For Madinat al-Salam, the City of Peace: Baghdad's first name.
The Sun
The light of a Baghdad afternoon, gold on every rooftop.
IV · Something sweet
The Tradition of Welcome
In Baghdad, no guest arrives to an empty table. Before the conversation begins there is coffee, and beside the coffee something sweet, offered with both hands.
